Content
This is an initial outline of the proposed content which, may be subject to change without prior notice.
Saturday;
Session 1 – Maurice Nightingale. ‘Setting The Scene’. Providing a context for what we aim to see happen in the Baltic nations.
Session 2 – Mike Betts. ‘Off To A Good Start’. Being birthed right as a Christian. Saved by grace, baptism in water and in the Spirit. Applying it personally to those attending and also, to local situations, to see how we can ‘save and add’ to what we have.
Session 3 – Mike Betts. ‘Healing and the Kingdom of God’. A theological perspective on the kingdom ‘now and not yet’. The ‘tension’ of some being healed vs some are not but, God does want all healed. Providing a clear theological foundation, faith and framework for the good practice of praying for the sick.
Sunday morning; Split into two teams. One led by Maurice to minister into the Smiltene local church scene, the other led by Mike to minister into the Valga (Estonia) local church scene.

Transportation between Riga & Smiltene
There is no railway line to Smiltene, and the last bus to Smiltene leaves Riga about 1800.
Riga - Smiltene
It is anticipated to provide a private hire coach to transport all those who wish, from the airport to Smiltene on the evening of Friday 13th.
It is planned to leave the airport no later than 2000.
It is a 3 hour coach journey from Riga’s airport to Smiltene. In addition, there will be a 1 hour stop at a restaurant on the way. So, you will hopefully be at the hotel a bit before midnight. For the British their ‘body clocks’ will still be at 2200 and for those travelling from central Europe, 2300 so, it shouldn't be too much of a problem for anyone.
The issue is, please don’t book a flight which lands late in the evening. You may find yourself spending the night in Riga!
Smiltene – Riga
Obviously a similar scenario will apply for your return journey to the airport!
In addition to a three hour journey to the airport, you will need to allow for checking-in 1,5 – 2,0 hours prior to your flight departure and, to be safe, allow an additional hour to the journey to the airport to facilitate for possible delays such as traffic jams.
Thus, it would be prudent to assume that you will need to leave Smiltene up to 6 hours prior to your planned flight departure time! I would suggest that booking an afternoon or evening return flight would be wise.
On Monday 16th, once again, we will provide a private hire coach, to get you to Riga by about lunchtime. If you wish/need to depart on Sunday 15th then please email me and advise me. I can then arrange to have someone drive you to the airport (for a small additional cost - see 'Estimated Cost' section below). If you have to make an early flight on the Monday, you may need to be driven to Riga on the Sunday and then stay the night in the hotel near the airport.
I apologise that this may have all been slightly long winded. Such is the nature of the geography and logistics within which we live and work here in Smiltene.
In summary
Arrival – Please book a flight such that you will be ready to leave Riga’s airport on our coach by 2000 on the Friday.
Departure – Please try to book an afternoon/evening flight on the Monday.
With prior notice (and a small additional cost), we can arrange to get you to Riga on the Sunday if you so need.
